The sun sets on the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Manila, Philippines, March 5, 2018. A team of eight Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) personnel traveled to the cemetery and spent 13 days disinterring the graves of 20 unknown service members that were related to POW’s killed in the Cabanatuan POW Camp. The disinterment was part of DPAA’s effort to identify unknowns lost during WWII and provide the fullest possible accounting of our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
