Dr. Audrey Scott, a forensic anthropologist with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), prepares graves for excavation during a disinterment at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Manila, Philippines, March 5, 2018. A team of eight DPAA personnel spent 13 days disinterring the graves of 20 unknowns connected to POW’s killed in the Cabanatuan POW Camp. The disinterment was part of DPAA’s effort to identify unknowns lost during WWII and provide the fullest possible accounting of our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
