(March 3, 2018) Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Christopher Phillips instructs Sailors dressed in fire fighting personal protective equipment how to properly wrap a pipe using an Emergency Water Activated Repair Patch during a general quarters (GQ) training drill aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). GQ drills are simulated scenario base casualties designed to provide Sailors with hands-on experience in fire fighting, pipe patching, structural integrity and other shipboard casualties.
