The 28 ID received authority of the Task Force Mission from the 35th Infantry Division, a few days prior to the 28th’s 139th birthday on March 12, 2018. This marks the second time that 28 ID has worked with the 35 ID under Third Army; the first time was in 1944 as both organizations were under the command of Lt. Gen. George S. Patton.
