New York Naval Militia HM2 (FMF) Joseph Ganci, who is also a member of the Navy Reserve, uses a chainsaw to clear debris as part of a class on chainsaw operation and safety at Camp Smith Training Site, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., Mar. 6, 2018. Two hundred members of the N.Y. Army and Air Guard, Naval Militia,s and N.Y. Guard -- the state volunteer response force--have been activated following last Friday’s nor’easter to local emergency services with debris clearance and traffic control.
