U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractor uses a propane torch to heat up tar, which seals new section of roofing on the Bayamon Police Command Office, Bayamon Puerto Rico February 23, 2018. The roof and other features of the building were heavily damaged during Hurricane Maria.
The team is executing contracts to make structures water tight, eliminate hazards such as exposed electrical wiring, and perform mold remediation. The Federal Emergency Management Agency tasked the Corps with repairs to critical public facilities in Puerto Rico following the storm. The Corps has completed repairs and construction for 64 of the 100 facilities.
