    II Marine Expeditionary Force   

    CAMP DWYER, Helmand province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan —Marines with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion look at the estimated 1,200-1,500 lbs. of desert sand compacted on top of a Light Armored Vehicle underbelly protection kit. The Marines had to remove these kits and clean them prior to it being placed on the new LAVs that were recently brought in country.
