A certificate of appreciation was presented to Mr. Benito Belen, a local construction worker, by MAJ Kimberly Giles, Recovery Field Office Deputy Commander, for constructing a temporary bridge that allowed the Temporary Power Team to remove and install a new generator at the Guajataca Dam, restoring water to roughly 44,000 people, February 8, 2018. After the original generator failed and needed replacement, contractors attempted multiple routes to try and get the new one installed, but they were unable to until the temporary bridge was created.
