The winners of the 2018 Best Warrior Competition have been announced. From left to right: Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, Sgt. Jordy Brewer, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry Regiment; Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, Sgt. 1st Class Anthony Hughes, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry Regiment; Soldier of the Year, Pfc. Catherine Zembrodt, 101st Airborne Division, Main Command Post Operational Detachment. This year’s competitors did over 20 miles of running and marching in full combat uniforms, completed written exams and an essay, demonstrated nearly every Army Warrior Task and endured rain and freezing temperatures to complete the 3-day competition.
