Crew members from Public Works Department Sasebo assist U.S. Navy Seabees assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2 (UCT 2) Construction Diving Detachment Bravo (CDDB) in removing piles from the harbor at Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS) on January 24, 2018. CDDB used various underwater demolition techniques including underwater cutting, explosives, and lift bags to remove hazards to navigation. CDDB is on the first stop of their six-month deployment where they are conducting inspection, maintenance, and repair of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the Pacific Fleet.
