CULEBRA, Puerto Rico, December 2, 2017 – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA), and Louis Berger Corporation work together to measure the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe to protect the cables used to power the new generators. Since Hurricane Irma, Culebra lost its connection to the Puerto Rico power grid, which is the islands’ exclusive source of electricity. The generators were delivered by FEMA and USACE.
