A civilian man wearing a traditional Hawaiian lei is speaking at a podium during what appears to be an official ceremony. Behind him are the United States flag and what appears to be the Hawaii state flag, along with a military officer in Army Combat Uniform standing at attention. The setting suggests a formal military or government event, likely in Hawaii.

The Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG) conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) at Kalaeloa on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The Kalaeloa AASF will be used for the maintenance of and flight operations for the CH-47 Chinook, the UH-60 Black Hawk, and the UH-72 Lakota.

This is the third AASF that the HIARNG utilizes. The other two are located at Wheeler Army Air Field and in Hilo, at Lyman Field. The groundbreaking was in 2015 and the total cost of the new AASF included $33.4 million in federal and $4.51 million in state general obligation bond funds.
