RED FLAG-Alaska (RF-A) is a Pacific Air Force-directed field training exercise (FTX) for U.S. and international forces flown under simulated air combat conditions. It is conducted on the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) with air operations flown primarily out of Eielson Air Force Base and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The exercise may also include operations originating from other bases around the Air Force. RF-A exercises are focused on improving the combat readiness of U.S. and international forces and providing training for units preparing for air expeditionary force taskings.
