The Department of Defense announced in March 1967 a possible plan that would eliminate the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s historic 32nd “Red Arrow” Division. A Dec. 30, 1967 reorganization replaced the 32nd Division with the 32nd Separate Brigade and enhanced the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s mission as a strategic reserve to the U.S. Army.
