LIELVARDE AIR BASE, LATVIA (Dec. 22, 2017): Lieutenant Colonel Viesturs Masulis, left, of the Latvian Land Forces, presents a gift to Lieutenant Colonel Nate Surrey and U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Nancy Petit. Surrey commands the 3-227th Assault Helicopter Battalion, which is deployed to Lielvarde Air Base, Latvia, under Operation Atlantic Resolve, and as part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence across Poland and the Baltic states.
