Brig. Gen. Wayne Brock, 335th Signal Command (Theater) (Provisional) commanding general, hands the 335thSC guidon to Maj. Gen. Peter M. Vangjel, Third Army deputy commanding general, during the 335th SC change of command ceremony, April 30, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Passing the guidon from the outgoing commander to the incoming commander is a symbolic military tradition highlighting the outgoing commander entrusting his unit to the incoming commander. During his tenure with Third Army, Brock and his soldiers played a significant role in shaping the future of Afghanistan by building up commercial communications infrastructure at various sites and forward operating bases in the country. Brock passed the colors to Col. Kaffia Jones, the incoming commander.
