U.S. Marine Corps Col. Richard F. Fuerst, the commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, addresses the audience of a birthday pageant ceremony MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, Nov. 9, 2017. U.S. Marines and Sailors from around the air station came together to watch and participate in a pageant that featured uniforms from different eras throughout the Marine Corps’ 200 plus year history. The Marine Corps birthday is a time to reflect on the values and traditions that bind Marines together, while looking forward as the Corps continues to progress into a new era.
