An Afghan National Army recruit studies literacy course materials during Regional Basic Warrior Training at the Regional Military Training Center, April 27, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Every recruit in the basic training receives 64 hours of literacy training which amounts to a third grade reading level. The RMTC trains nearly 1,500 recruits every eight weeks. Graduates will be assigned to either the 205th or 215th Corps in Kandahar province.
