Cpl. John T. Gizzi, a Tuckerton, N.J., native and an assistant squad leader with Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 8, scans a tree line for suspicious activity during a patrol through the Kajaki green zone, Helmand province, Afghanistan, April 18. “We’ve definitely kept the insurgents on their toes,” said Gizzi, 21. “We’ve been able to push them back further and further and gain some territory.”
