U.S. Marines assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, pass the time while waiting to board the Amphibious Dock Landing Ship, USS Ashland (LSD 48), during Blue Chromite 18 aboard White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Oct 31, 2017. Blue Chromite is a U.S.-only exercise which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
