    171026-N-MC499-088 CARIBBEAN SEA (Oct. 26, 2017) Seaman Amanda Bedoya handles a line in the hangar bay aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Robert E. Peary (T-AKE 5) to enable continuing operations in Puerto Rico. Kearsarge is assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting FEMA, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
