NORFOLK (Oct. 26, 2017) A Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (SURFLANT) Sailor, playing the role of an active shooter, and a member of the command's Anti-Terrorism Force Protection team participate in an active shooter training exercise. SURFLANT military and civilian personnel are participating in a training exercise to ensure that if an active shooter scenario were to occur, personnel would be ready to active counter that threat here at SURFLANT headquarters building from Monday through Friday Oct. 26. The active shooter exercise was designed to familiarize Sailors, government employees and contractors with the Navy's Run-Hide-Fight policy.
