    171023-N-SA412-0055 PONCE, Puerto Rico (Oct. 23, 2017) Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) and U.S. Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU 24) unload supplies from an MH-53E from the "Blackhawks" of Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 15 (HM-15) in support of relief efforts in Puerto Rico. Wasp is assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
