A U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer is firing its forward 5-inch (127mm) Mk 45 naval gun during what appears to be a live-fire exercise at sea. A large cloud of white propellant smoke is visible at the gun muzzle, indicating the weapon has just discharged. The ship's helicopter flight deck, Vertical Launch System (VLS) cells, and various topside equipment are clearly visible.
