James P. Ellis, Air Force Site Activation Task Force Team Chief for the MQ-9 Active Associate working group meets with representatives of the New York Air National Guard's 174th Attack Wing September 12, 2017 at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base, Syracuse, N.Y. Members of the 174th met with peer leaders of the active Air Force's 49th Wing discuss infrastructure needs, timelines, and to identify priorities and issues concerning manpower needs to support agreements for forming an active associate unit. The partnership will see active-duty members serve alongside Air National Guard members at the base to increase aircrew qualification, retention, and career opportunities.
