Render Parkman, a resident dentist with the 2nd Dental Squadron, based out of Barksdale Air Force Base, in Shreveport, La., examines a Salvadoran child’s teeth during a dental readiness exercise as part of Beyond the Horizon 2011. Beyond the Horizon El Salvador is a 4-month-long civic assistance and training exercise that is offering free medical and dental clinics, helping build local Salvadoran infrastructure, giving U.S. service members valuable training and strengthening U.S.-Salvadoran relations.
