A group of U.S. Army soldiers in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) carrying rucksacks are participating in what appears to be a ruck march or charity walk/run event, identifiable by numbered race bibs attached to their uniforms. Civilian participants wearing high-visibility safety vests and casual athletic wear are also present alongside the soldiers on a paved road. The overcast sky and bare trees suggest a cool-weather setting, likely early spring or late fall.

Participants in the 14th Annual Bataan Memorial March in Brainerd step off the starting line, April 9. In 1942, Maj. Gen. Edward King surrendered 10,000 American forces to the Japanese in the Philippines - including A Company of the 194th Tank Battalion. Survivors of the march became prisoners of war and did not return to Brainerd until 1945.
