170920-N-N0443-001 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Sept. 20, 2017) An instructor explains the components and pre-checks before starting the Lightweight Water Purification System (LWPS) during training for Seabees onboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Using reverse osmosis technology, the lightweight, modular, highly transportable, self-contained LWPS is capable of purifying up to 75 gallons per hour of salt water and 125 gallons per hour of fresh water. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Training Support Agency offered the training as part of a cohesive integrated product support strategy for the LWPS.
