170919-N-N0443-001 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Sept. 19, 2017) Seabees learn how to electrically start the water pump component of the Lightweight Water Purification System (LWPS) during training onboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Using reverse osmosis technology, the lightweight, modular, highly transportable, self-contained LWPS is capable of purifying up to 75 gallons per hour of salt water and 125 gallons per hour of fresh water. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Training Support Agency offered the training as part of a cohesive integrated product support strategy for the LWPS.
