EDINBURG, Texas - (Oct. 5, 2017) Pharr, Texas, native, Navy Counselor 1st Class Ivan Aguilar, joined by Wilmington, N.C., native, Electrician's Mate Nuclear 2nd Class Jonathan Toth, both assigned to Navy Recruiting Station McAllen, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, talks with Adam Flores, a senior attending the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) regarding Navy career choices during the 2017 Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week (HESTEC) held on the campus of UTRGV. HESTEC is a nationally recognized model for promoting STEM careers to students of all ages. Now in its 16th year, the program has been recognized as a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
