MARKET SQUARE, ZAGAN, Poland — Col. Michael Simmering, commander, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, speaks during a transfer of authority ceremony, Market Square, Zagan, Poland, Sep. 29. The ceremony marks the transfer of command and responsibility of being the only armored brigade combat team in Europe from 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team to 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. The 2nd ABCT is currently in Poland to support Atlantic Resolve, a U.S. endeavor to fulfill NATO commitments by rotating U.S. -based units throughout the European theater and training with NATO Allies and partners.
