Members of the Florida National Guard Counterdrug Drug Demand Reduction program provided a drug education awareness class to more than 125 kindergarteners at Crookshank Elementary School in St. Augustine, Fla., Feb. 25. The DDR specialists talked to the young students about the harmful effects of tobacco and alcohol through the informational drug awareness program, “Night Vision.” After the program in the school, the students watched the Florida National Guard Aerial Reconnaissance Team land a Lakota UH-72A helicopter on the playground. Pilots of the ART team spoke to the kids about the Lakota helicopter and how the Florida National Guard Counterdrug program uses the helicopter to help federal agencies and law enforcement find drugs and "bad guys."
