Sgt. Jamaal Burris, a member of the Florida National Guard Counterdrug Drug Demand Reduction program, talked to a class of sixth graders at Alice B. Landrum Middle School in St. Augustine, Fla., Feb. 24, in the teen leadership class. The Florida National Guard Counterdrug DDR program collaborates with the school’s "Capturing Kids Hearts" program each semester during weekly visits to help instruct and provide guidance for improved communication, better decision-making and community service. Of the approximate 1,200, 6-8 grade students currently enrolled, more than 90 percent have participated in this collaborative training at the school.
