Marines with the Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, load Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear gear onto a cargo palette to be transported to Atsugi, Japan in support of Operation Tomodachi at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, March 16. More than 140 cases of bottled water and CBRN gear will be delivered to Marines in mainland Japan. Marines and sailors from III MEF are actively providing support for foreign humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in mainland Japan. The name Tomodachi, which means “friends” in Japanese, was chosen by the government of Japan.
