A KC-130J Super Hercules aircraft with Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force prepares to take off en route to Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan March 16. The aircraft will deliver supplies to mainland Japan for humanitarian assistance operations following the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, March 11. The proximity of Marine aviation assets at MCAS Futenma has allowed Marines from III MEF to rapidly deploy critically-needed supplies and aid to support the relief effort.
