U.S. Army Spc. Chene Nowicki, a multichannel transmission systems operator-maintainer, assigned to the 63rd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 35th Signal Brigade, station at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, was recently called to action to help provide communication assistance for Soldiers out of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, who convoyed hundreds of miles to provide support with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state of Florida. “It has been a great learning experience,” said Nowicki referring to being able to quickly deploy and set up communications equipment on short notice, allowing troops to communicate and coordinate efforts. Nowicki is part of a four-person team that joined the convoy from Ft. Stewart to Lakeland, Florida where they based their operations.
