Scott Guthrie, with A Company, 1st Battalion, 186th Infantry Regiment, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, at the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) in Salem, Oregon, August 28, 2017. Guthrie, of Brookings, Oregon, volunteered for firefighting duty even though he and his family were already evacuated from their home due to the Chetco Bar Fire.
