Typically a five-day course, the 40-hour training certification was condensed into four longer days so the Soldiers could deploy to the fires more quickly. Nearly 125 Citizen-Soldiers from the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team volunteered for the second iteration (also known as NG-2) of Oregon National Guard personnel called-up to assist with wildfires across the state of Oregon.
