An A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft from the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard, is refueled by a MC-130J Commando II aircraft from the 352nd Special Operations Wing RAF Mildenhall, England Aug. 16, 2017, during forward air refueling exercise for Operation Heatwave at Kuressaare Airfield, Estonia. The flying training deployment is funded by the European Reassurance Initiative in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The U.S. Air Force’s forward presence in Europe allows the U.S. to work with allies and partners to develop and improve ready air forces capable of maintaining regional security.
