PORT HUENEME, Calif. (Aug. 23, 2017) - Chief Petty Officer (Select) Waverly Holland and other Chief Selects representing commands at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) conduct a flag retirement ceremony at Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center located onboard NBVC. It is a custom at some commands for Chief Petty Officer Selects to conduct this ceremony during their CPO 365 Phase II training; initiation into the ranks of chief petty officers.
