(Aug. 21, 2017) – U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command Director, Contractor Operated Ships, Christopher Thayer, coins MSC civilian mariner 3rd Officer Darrel Tracy, of the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), for his contribution to Frank Cable’s FY 2016 Chief of Naval Operations Afloat Safety Award, aboard Frank Cable’s observation deck, Aug. 21. Frank Cable, currently in Portland for a scheduled dry-dock phase availability, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surfaces vessels in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
