170821-N-UK248-008 SINGAPORE (Aug. 21, 2017) Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) supply department, inventory coveralls in the ship’s hangar bay. America Sailors are providing support to the crew of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) following a collision in the Malacca Straits. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
