Capt. Matthew Zahler RC South Air Mobility Liaison Officer watches as an Afghan C-27 aircraft lands on a dirt landing zone in the Zabul province of Afghanistan near FOB Lagman during a Landing Zone Safety Officer class. Zahler was there to help teach students how to safely run a dirt landing zone. The class consisted of U.S. Air Force, Army, and Romanian Army personnel who were there to be certified to safely run the dirt landing and drop zone.
