U.S. Air Force Capt. Matthew Zahler, RC South Air Mobility Liaison Officer, conducts a foreign object debris walk and inspection of a dirt landing zone in the Zabul province of Afghanistan near FOB Lagman as part of the hands on portion of a Landing Zone Safety Officer class. Zahler was there to help teach students how to safely run a dirt landing zone. The class consisted of U.S. Air Force, Army, and Romanian Army personnel who were there to be certified to safely run the dirt landing and drop zone.
