170813-N-AZ808-033 PACIFIC OCEAN (August 13, 2017) – Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Stephen Cobb and Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Lauren Vannewhouse disassemble manning stations aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) Aug. 13. Halsey is currently underway conducting a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with TRCSG in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
