Col. Gerdzhikov, incoming 20th Bulgarian contingent commander, signs a document officially changing authority from the 19th to the 20th Bulgarian contingent forces during a transition of authority ceremony Feb. 15, at Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan. The new unit of Bulgarian forces is part of a Ground Defense Area Company that will provide force protection for several different bases throughout the KBC.
