A U.S. Army pilot assigned to the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, flies a CH-47 Chinook Aug. 9, 2017, over rural areas near Tapa Army Base, Estonia, during an exercise with A-10C Thunderbolt II’s from the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard. The flying training deployment is funded by the European Reassurance Initiative in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The U.S. Air Force’s forward presence in Europe allows the U.S. to work with allies and partners to develop and improve ready air forces capable of maintaining regional security.
