NORFOLK (Aug. 1, 2017)— Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Kevin Munro, a student of the Navy’s first Role 2 Light Maneuver (R2LM) course, simulates evaluating a patient’s condition during a combat surgery training exercise on a mannequin. The objective of the pilot course, being held at Surface Warfare Medical Institute (SWMI) East, a detachment of Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC), is to build a mobile unit equipped to set up a functioning medical area with advanced trauma life support capabilities.
