A military burial at sea ceremony is taking place on the deck of a naval vessel. Three uniformed personnel are present: one saluting, one holding a folded flag triangle, and one standing at the ship's rail where a flag-draped casket or board is positioned over the ocean. The ceremony appears to be a formal committal service conducted at sea.

170715-N-OY799-078 CORAL SEA (July 15, 2017) Lt. j.g. Jason Burchell, left, from Arlington, Virginia, a chaplain aboard the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), salutes as Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Richard Jojola, middle, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Tiffany Stiers, from Kansas City, Missouri, drop the ashes of Julius "Harry" Frey from a chute during a burial-at-sea ceremony for Frey and his wife, Jerry, during Talisman Saber 2017. Frey, a WWII veteran, served aboard USS Lexington (CV 2) during the Battle of Coral Sea and his ashes were laid to rest at the coordinates where the ship sank. Talisman Saber is a realistic and challenging exercise that brings service members closer and improves both U.S. and Australia's ability to work bilaterally and multilaterally, and prepares them to be poised to provide security regionally and globally.
