BETIO ISLAND, TARAWA ATOLL, KIRIBATI— Lance Cpl. Joshua Rothering (right) and Sgt. Joseph Pritchard pick up trash during a beach cleanup, June 16, 2017, on Betio Island, Tarawa Atoll, Kiribati. The cleanup took place during a week of training where Marines and Sailors trained and shared ideas with the Kiribati Police Maritime Unit to develop a more capable, well-rounded police force. Rothering, a Winona, Minnesota native, is a field radio operator with Headquarters Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, currently deployed to Koa Moana 17.
